Ivy Cottage, only a three minute stroll from the sea, provides a welcoming and comfortable base from which to enjoy the glorious beaches, activities, and the spectacular, uncrowded countryside of Pembrokeshire. One of the earliest houses in the conservation area of this tiny, picturesque fishing village, the cottage has been renovated to a high standard by local craftsmen while still preserving its original character.
The cottage sits in a cul-de-sac - close to but removed from the bustle of the village, its pubs and the beach.
In the cosy sitting room you can enjoy a relaxing evening in front of the open fire, perhaps watching a film from the large collection on DVD, after a day spent walking the cliffs and coves of the Pembrokeshire Coast path. The separate dining room also offers a comfortable place for listening to music, catching up on emails, or simply reading in peace.
A third seating area gives easy access to the steps leading up to the small private, south-facing garden, with patio, summerhouse, garden furniture and some sea views. This sun-trap makes an ideal retreat from the busy centre of the village and you can sit back peacefully, drink in hand, enjoying the extensive views over the valley and out towards the sea.
There is a shower room on the ground floor, and in the well-equipped oak kitchen you will find double oven, ceramic hob, extractor fan, dishwasher, fridge, 3 drawer freezer and everything needed for cooking.
If you don’t feel like making a meal, just a short stroll away Little Haven boasts excellent pubs with restaurants. Each one has its own character, but all provide excellent food using local produce, as well as an interesting variety of beers. In season the Corner House Cafe offers lunches, ice cream and sandwiches, right alongside the beach. There are also restaurants in Haverfordwest which offer home delivery.
Upstairs there are two comfortable, pretty bedrooms with pine furniture and ample storage space. One bedroom has a king size bed and a single, while the other room has twin beds. There is a bespoke oak and granite bathroom with wash hand basin, toilet, and bath.
Ivy Cottage provides a cosy, peaceful and unique retreat, perfect for couples and small families and a ‘home from home’, ideal for all seasons.
LITTLE HAVEN
Little Haven is a charming, old fishing village on the coast of St Brides Bay, in the heart of the Pembrokeshire National Park. It nestles in a cove at the junction of two streams. Too small for much development, Little Haven retains its traditional charm. In spite of its size, it has a seasonal sea activity centre, café, a seafood shop which offers coffee and local products, and pubs offering a warm welcome and good, locally sourced food. Just over the headland, or across the wide beach at low tide, is Broad Haven which has a well-stocked convenience store as well as a selection of other eating places, and craft, beach and water sport shops.
Little Haven is within easy reach of both north and south of the county, as well as the historic centres of St Davids, Tenby, and Pembroke with its medieval castle. It makes a superb and peaceful centre from which to explore the award-winning golden beaches, dramatic coastal paths, clear waters and amazing wildlife of this splendid part of Wales. There is also a multitude of activities including golf, horse riding, zorbing, karting, family attractions, water sports and much more.
Wildlife abounds. You can take boat trips to fish for mackerel, or to see the dolphins and seals, or visit the island reserves of Skomer, Skokholm, Ramsey and Grassholm with their thousands of puffins, shearwaters, gannets and gulls. The marine reserve in the waters around this section of the coast also offers rewarding snorkelling and diving. In the autumn secluded coves shelter seal pups.
Other water sports available include bodyboarding, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, and, for the adventurous, coasteering. The village has a slipway for launching small boats and there is an additional water sports shop which rents out equipment just half a mile away in Broad Haven. Or you can just relax on the sand or on the village green while keeping an eye on children dam building, exploring rock pools and playing on the sheltered, award-winning family beach.
If you would rather keep your feet on dry land, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park offers some of the best natural walking experiences in Britain. The stunning 186 mile long coastal path runs through Little Haven and there are countless other paths and trails crossing hills and moorlands, passing by prehistoric burial chambers, through secluded coves, river valleys, and ancient woodlands and along the challenging wild cliffs.
Truly, Pembrokeshire offers something for everyone and Little Haven is at its heart!

Approached via B road from Haverfordwest. All routes into the village involve a steep descent and narrow lanes. There is no parking at the cottage, although cars may stop to unload by the front door. There is a public car park in the village which is about a 3 minute walk away. There is one permit provided for one car from March – November. Car park is free at other times. There are electric car charging points in the car park. Main entrance to the cottage has a restricted height door and a shallow step from the road into the property over a weather strip. The rear entrance, accessed from a flat concrete area at the side, has similar constraints, although the stable-style door is of normal height. On the ground floor the cottage has three living rooms, a kitchen, utility area and shower room with sink and lavatory. There are two six-inch steps from the kitchen into the extension which houses one of the living rooms, the shower room and the utility area. Access to the sink in the “galley-style” utility area is very restricted, although the washing machine is more easily reached. Compact, fitted kitchen has cooker with low-level oven, waist level grill/oven and ceramic hob. Controls are at the front of the cooker. There is a high-level fridge which starts at waist height above a three-drawer freezer. There is a microwave. All rooms are well-lit. Access to the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom is by a constricted dogs-leg flight of stairs. Since these rooms are partially in the roof, there is reduced headroom in some areas and the bedroom doors are low on this floor. TV/DVD and musical entertainment are all operated by remote. Radio and TV reception can be patchy. The cottage has Wifi. Cottage phone accepts calls, but only emergency and freephone outgoing calls can be made. (Landline unavailable in 2025). Mobile phone reception can be limited, depending on the phone supplier. If mobile phone access is vital, please ask your phone supplier about coverage. Guide dog welcome. Garden reached by a flight of steep stone steps, the risers are 8" and the treads 11". There is a hand rail. The small garden, summer house and patio, and other garden features are on the hillside above cottage roof height. There is a fenced drop into a bank. The area to the rear of the stone garden wall has been grassed to control weeds and should not be considered an accessible part of the garden.

Warm and comfortable. Have seen chough, kite, buzzards and pheasant at Little Haven; grey seal, fulmar, ravens and stonechat around Dale; primrose and red campion at Martin's Haven - very early. Sunny and warm enough to sit up on the patio in the afternoons. Patrick and Helen.

Loved walks along beach to Broad Haven, meals at St Brides, and walks along coastal path.Marloes is not to be missed!
This made a lovely change from our normal stamping ground of North Pembrokeshire. With 3 out of 4 knees underperforming, the coastal walking was very manageable. We loved St. Brides Bay and the walk to Musslewick – watched choughs, ravens, peregrine falcons. We found an idyllic picnic spot on a slate beach off St. Mary the Virgin Church, Talbenny. Far-reaching views across St Brides Bay. The Druidston was quirky, but food good and fabulous location. A wonderful few days and perfect pick you up!
